Huangshan Mountain, located in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, was originally named Yishan Mountain. It was renamed Huangshan Mountain in the Tang Dynasty, taking the meaning of "Mountain of the Yellow Emperor." Huangshan Mountain is a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site, a World Geopark, one of China's top ten scenic spots, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Huangshan Scenic Area covers an area of 160.6 square kilometers, extending from Huangshi in the east to Xiaolingjiao in the west, Erlong Bridge in the north, and Tangkou Town in the south. It is divided into nine management areas: Hot Spring, Yungu, Yuping, Beihai, Songgu, Diaoqiao, Fuxi, Yanghu, and Fugu, including more than 200 scenic spots of various sizes. Huangshan Mountain is world-renowned for its "five wonders":奇松 (odd-shaped pines), 怪石 (grotesque rocks), 云海 (sea of clouds), 温泉 (hot springs), and 冬雪 (winter snow). It is known as "the most fantastic mountain in the world." "No need to see the mountains after visiting the Five Great Mountains; no need to see the other mountains after returning from Huangshan" is the best evaluation of Huangshan Mountain. Hongcun Village is located in Hongcun Town, Yi County, Anhui Province, 11 kilometers away from the county seat of Yi County, at the southwestern foot of Huangshan Mountain, with geographical coordinates of 117°38′ east longitude and 30°11′ north latitude. Historical Evolution: It was first built in the first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131 AD), originally called "Hongcun." It was renamed Hongcun during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 800 years. Village Layout: The geographical layout of Hongcun Village resembles a "cow shape," with Leigang Mountain resembling the "cow's head," ancient trees resembling "horns," ancient buildings in the village resembling the "cow's body," Tanghu Lake resembling the "cow's stomach" and "cow's belly," artificial water systems resembling the "cow's intestines," and the four wooden bridges in the village representing the "cow's feet." The overall shape is like a "lying cow." Architectural Style: It is one of the representatives of traditional Huizhou-style architecture. The architectural style is simple and unadorned, with white walls and blue tiles neatly arranged, cornices with upturned eaves, and elegant and antique interior furnishings. It preserves 137 ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
