Description
Shirakawa-go Gassho Village & Hida Takayama Day Trip with optional Shirakawa-go Observatory (Departing from Nagoya) Embark on an unforgettable journey through Japan's traditions and natural beauty from Nagoya! This tour will take you deep into Hida Takayama and the World Heritage Site - Shirakawa-go Gassho Village, to experience the unique charm of the Hokuriku region of Japan. Hida Takayama: Ancient Shopping Streets and Top Gourmet Experiences Arrive early in the morning in Hida Takayama, known as "Little Kyoto," which retains a strong Edo-era atmosphere. Stroll through the ancient streets of Sanno-machi, admire the well-preserved traditional merchant streets, and feel the interweaving of history and modernity. You can also freely explore unique craft stores, Japanese cafes, and traditional pubs, and enjoy a slow pace of life. You can also sample Hida Takayama's most famous delicacy, Hida beef, at your own expense. This high-quality beef is known for its melt-in-your-mouth texture and marbled appearance, and whether it's a tender steak, hot pot shabu-shabu, or creative beef sushi, it will give you an unparalleled taste experience. Shirakawa-go Gassho Village: Explore Japan's Unique Thatched Houses Shirakawa-go Gassho Village is located in a quiet valley surrounded by mountains, and is world-renowned for its 113 traditional gassho-style buildings. Climb to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the fairytale-like A-frame thatched roofs, with each season offering its own unique scenery - cherry blossoms in spring, fiery maple leaves in autumn, and pure and dreamy snowscapes in winter. Shirakawa-go Winter Light-Up is a special event in the Shirakawa-go Gassho Village in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. There are four light-up events, which will be held on January 12 (Monday, Japanese National Holiday), January 18 (Sunday), January 25 (Sunday), and February 1 (Sunday). The light-up time is from 17:30-19:30. Best viewing point: Shiroyama Observatory is located on the east side of the village, and is the most classic perspective, with a panoramic view of the entire Gassho-style village and the sea of lights. (You need to book a special package for the light-up event)
