Description

Explore the hidden gems of Japan's coast and countryside, from seaside boathouses to thatched-roof villages—every step is a picture-postcard view 🌊🏡. First, visit Ine no Funaya (boathouses), known as the "Venice of Japan." More than 230 boathouses line Ine Bay, creating a picturesque scene with the clear waters, deep green mountains, and ever-changing sky. Stroll or bike 🚴 along the coast and check out the lesser-known spot "Funaya Biyori," where you can quietly enjoy the bay's beauty with a cup of coffee ☕. Don't forget to experience the unique structure of the boathouses, with boat storage on the first floor and living quarters on the second, to feel the authentic charm of the fishing village. Next, head to Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three most scenic views. Approximately 8,000 pine trees grow on the sandbar in Miyazu Bay in the Sea of Japan, forming a bridge to the heavens. Climb to the observation deck on Mt. Monju to overlook the stunning scenery known as "Hiryukan" (flying dragon view) 🪁. The white sandy beaches on either side of the sandbar are perfect for walking. Visit Amanohashidate Shrine in the pine forest to pray for love 💖, or head to the ancient well "Isoshimizu" to experience the mystical energy of Japan's famous waters. The Monju-do Temple enshrines the Bodhisattva of wisdom, and the temple gate and revolving bridge add to the fun. The sight of the revolving bridge turning when large ships pass is truly amazing. Finally, visit the Miyama thatched-roof village, one of Japan's three major thatched-roof house settlements, along with Shirakawa-go. About 40 of the 50 houses in the Kita village retain their thatched roofs 🏘️. This place is as peaceful as a fairyland, as if you have traveled back to the Edo period. We recommend checking out the red mailbox 📮 and the roofs of the thatched-roof houses, and observing the ancient wisdom of "chigi" and "yukiwari" (snow splitters). Enjoy Miyama milk ice cream at "Café Gallery Ayaka," or visit the Folk Museum to learn about ancient household tools and the interior structure of the houses, and experience the unique charm of Japanese rural culture. This trip combines pristine fishing village scenery, stunning sea views, and ancient village culture. Whether you're taking photos, strolling, or taking a break, it's a relaxing and healing travel experience 💛.
