Description
Seven Star Crag, known as Qixia Cave during the Sui and Tang dynasties, and Xian Li Rock and Bixu Rock during the Song dynasty, is located inside Putuo Mountain in Guilin Seven Star Park. It runs through the east and west, with the entrance on the southwest hillside of Tianji Peak and the exit at the eastern foot. It was originally a section of an ancient underground river channel dating back 1 million years. Later, due to crustal movement and land uplift, it was suspended in mid-air. The cave is divided into 3 layers: the upper layer is 8-12 meters higher than the middle layer, and the remaining traces are still recognizable; the lower layer is 10-15 meters away from the middle layer and is still a developing underground river channel. The middle layer is currently open for tourists. The middle layer is 1100 meters long (814 meters for the tour), covering an area of 1.75 hectares. The temperature inside the cave remains at around 20℃ throughout the year, and the entire cave forms a bead-like underground corridor.
