Description

The Leshan Giant Buddha is located in Leshan City, on the rock wall of Qixia Peak, Lingyun Mountain, where the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River converge. Also known as the Lingyun Giant Buddha, it has been designated a "World Cultural and Natural Heritage" site by UNESCO. The statue is a Maitreya Buddha in a sitting posture and is a masterpiece of Tang Dynasty cliff carving art.
