Description

Do you know the most representative building in Beijing? It's not the Great Wall, nor the Forbidden City, but the Temple of Heaven Park in Beijing. It is not only a tourist destination but also a symbol of the traditional culture of the Chinese nation. It has witnessed the piety of ancient emperors and carries the admiration and yearning of countless people. Here, history and reality are intertwined, and sacredness and solemnity coexist, making people linger and forget to return. The Temple of Heaven Park in Beijing is where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to heaven and prayed for a good harvest every year. The Temple of Heaven is world-renowned for its rigorous architectural layout, unique architectural structure, and magnificent architectural decoration. It covers a total area of about 2.7 million square meters and is divided into inner and outer altars. The architecture of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing displays the unique artistic expressions of implication and symbolism of ancient China. The Temple of Heaven also has a major feature: it combines architecture and acoustics perfectly. The Echo Wall, the Three-tone Stone, and the construction of the Circular Mound all make ingenious use of acoustics and are recognized as three acoustic wonders. The Temple of Heaven Park is the largest sacrificial building complex preserved in China. Yonghe Temple, located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, was originally the residence of Prince Yong (Yinzhen), Emperor Shizong of the Qing Dynasty, and the birthplace and place of growth of Emperor Gaozong (Hongli). It is the "latent residence" of the Yongzheng and Qianlong emperors. Yonghe Temple was the highest-standard Buddhist temple in the country during the mid-to-late Qing Dynasty. In 1961, Yonghe Temple was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
