Description
Leave Kyoto to the crowds and the beach to yourself. If you've already seen the red of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the torii gates of Fushimi Inari, and the bamboo forest of Arashiyama, then this day should be reserved for the sea breeze and pine forest. Heading north from Kyoto, the scenery begins to thin out, and Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three scenic spots, slowly unfolds at the end of your vision. Special Reminder⚠️If you can catch a sightseeing boat that day, please note: Eagles appear in the Ine Funaya area. If you spot an eagle, please stop feeding the seagulls🕊 immediately and store the feed properly to avoid being pecked. Heading north from Kyoto, the sounds of the city are gradually replaced by the sea breeze. Amanohashidate, one of Japan's three scenic spots, lies quietly between the Asoumi Sea and the Sea of Japan. The 3.6 km white sandbar is covered with pine forests, and the branches grow into different shapes in the sea breeze. Underneath your feet is soft white sand, and on both sides are blue sea surfaces with distinct layers. Walking through it, time naturally slows down. Take the cable car up Mt. Monju and overlook the entire Amanohashidate from the famous "Flying Dragon View," like a giant dragon soaring into the sky, its head and tail merging into the boundaries of the sea and sky. The wider the view, the quieter the heart. After descending the mountain, stop by Chionji Temple and Monju Hall. The ancient wooden mountain gate stands quietly, with incense smoke swirling but not noisy. The inverted fan-shaped fortunes sway gently under the eaves, with the fan surface gradually widening, as if reminding us that life will slowly unfold. The revolving bridge by the bridge occasionally rotates ninety degrees to make way for ships. There is no deliberate performance, but it is exceptionally elegant due to the order and rhythm. Summer Amanohashidate is more suitable for slowing down. The white sand beach extends on both sides of the pine forest, the seawater is clear and transparent, and the pine tree branches hang low, forming natural shadows. Even just strolling is enough to heal you. In the afternoon, head to Ine Funaya, known as the "last secret of Kyoto." Within Ine Bay, surrounded by mountains, more than 230 boathouses are quietly arranged along the coast. The first floor is a boathouse, and the second floor is a residence. People still coexist with the sea. There is no bustle of commercial streets here, only transparent seawater, slowly moving cloud shadows, and the tranquility of being close to life itself. You can ride a free bicycle through the quiet alleys, where sunlight falls on the wooden exterior walls and the air carries the scent of the sea; or you can take a boat out to sea, stand on the deck, watch the seagulls fly close to your vision, and the boathouses gradually move away behind you. This whole day, there is no hurried check-in, and no need for filters. The scenery itself is the best expression.
