Манэки-нэко — керамическая кошка с поднятой лапой — знакома каждому, кто бывал в японских и гонконгских магазинах. Но мало кто знает её настоящую историю. Музей в тихом посёлке Канаямадзи при храмовом комплексе рассказывает о происхождении фигурки (предположительно, середина XIX века, Токио или Киото), развенчивает мифы и показывает около 700 экземпляров, собранных со всей Японии. В музее можно написать молитву на специальном листе иноридзуда и повесить пожелание на бамбук — как это принято в местной традиции.
