Зоопарк и ботанический сад Хигасияма — один из крупных комплексов Нагои. В зоопарке обитает около 450 видов животных, среди которых азиатские слоны, коалы, красные панды и западные гориллы. В ботаническом саду представлено около 7000 видов растений; в разные сезоны здесь можно наблюдать цветение сакуры весной и осеннее многоцветье листвы. Отдельного внимания заслуживает оранжерея — здание, признанное важным культурным памятником страны. Здесь тропические и субтропические растения доступны для осмотра круглый год.
