Description
Aegibong Peace Ecopark, once Hill 154 where fierce battles occurred during the Korean War, is located at the confluence of the Hangang and Jogang Rivers. After the war, it became a meaningful site for displaced people who visited to glimpse their hometowns in North Korea. The area is now known for its renewed Jogang Observatory and a Starbucks cafe. Previously famous for a large Christmas tree, it was removed due to tensions with North Korea over its bright lights. In its place, bridge structures shaped like the tree were built, symbolizing peace. The park now stands as a symbol of harmony and reconciliation.
