Природный заповедник Виндкейв расположен в формации Бау — узкой полосе известняка площадью около 150 квадратных километров на юго-западе Саравака. Мягкость и растворимость известняка в сочетании с интенсивными тропическими дождями привела к образованию многочисленных пещер.
